This park marks the site of General John Hunt Morgan’s fight against the Harrison County Home Guards during the Civil War. Posey House Museum.
Built in 1817, this Federal style mansion was the home of Colonel Posey, a prominent Corydon merchant and political leader. Because of its size and the cool shade it offered, this famous tree served as an outdoor office for the delegates who wrote up Indiana’s first constitution.
